Must-See Christmas Experiences at Universal Studios Hollywood

Do you hear what I hear? Universal Studios Hollywood has kicked off their holiday celebrations! This year, The Entertainment Capital of L.A. has pulled out all the stops for guests to experience a joyous holiday season with special holiday treats, beautiful star-studded decorations, and entertaining shows that any Grinch would love to see. Here are a few Christmas experiences to check out at the park.

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

As soon as guests walk into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter they can feel the yuletide spirit with all the whimsical decorations that are uniquely themed for each little shop. As you make your way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, grab a hot Butterbeer and enjoy this delicious drink before it is too late. Once spring arrives and the “snow” goes away, so will this comforting drink.

Thanks to Professor Flitwick and his harmonious a capella Frog Choir, the students of Hogwarts and the giant bass frogs will charm the guests who visit with holiday Wizarding-themed carols like “I Cast a Spell on Father Christmas” and “The Most Magical Yule Ball of All.”

For the first time ever it will start snowing nightly in the small village of Hogsmeade, which is truly magical. A dazzling nighttime light projection spectacular will have guests in yuletide spirits as “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” illuminates Hogwarts with astounding projections and a music arrangement from the Harry Potter movies. “Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will take place daily until January 6th, 2019.

Inspired by Ron Howard’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas, join all the Whos in Whoville for a festive Who-bilation as they celebrate “Grinchmas.” The Seuss inspired “Grinchmas” tree standing at 60 feet tall will astonish guests. Physical props from the motion picture can be seen throughout Whoville, along with one-of-a-kind Whos that are happy to see guests and talk about Whoville. This celebration will be held weekends on December 1-2 and 8-9, and daily from December 14th through December 30th, 2018.

Join Martha May Who-vier and the Who Dolls as they perform a spectacular star-studded performance of well known Christmas songs that will make you want to sing along. The Christmas entertainment doesn’t stop with just Martha May, save some time for the Who-liday Singers as this hip a capella boy-band performs a mix of Christmas favorites and pop music.

At night, find a great spot to watch the “Grintchmas” Tree lighting as the Grinch, Cindy Lou, Martha May, and the Mayor light up the tree along with their fellow Whos and experience a Who-libration you will never forget, with snowfall and Kelly Clarkson’s “Underneath the Tree” getting stuck in your head for the whole night.

Photo Opportunities

All over Whoville guests can take pictures with well known Whos like Martha May; you may even catch Cindy Lou skipping around wishing guests a very merry Who-liday. Guests can even meet the Grinch’s precious sidekick, Max. We can’t forget that the main man who started this all — the Grinch will also be around to take pictures with his fans.
