Voodoo Doughnut is Officially Open at Universal CityWalk

After a preview period that lasted well over a month, Voodoo Doughnut is officially open for business at Universal CityWalk! The chain based out of Portland, Oregon chose to partner with Universal Orlando to bring their first store east of the Mississippi River to life, and they could not have picked a better location. Placed right next to NBC Sports Grill & Brew, it will surely be a popular stop for guests looking for a delicious breakfast or snack on their way into the theme parks.

Founders Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon came out for the grand opening moment that also included a special guest for the very first time – The Baron of Voodoo Doughnut. Take a look at the opening ceremony below!

All of the fanfare would be pointless if the doughnuts didn’t live up to the hype, and as of now they absolutely do. During the media event, Voodoo Doughnut provided a variety of doughnuts to taste (free of charge) and we were pleased with the ones we tried out, including the Portland Cream, Bacon Maple Bar, and Memphis Mafia. Our favorite thing we’ve tried at the store so far has to be the Memphis Mafia, which is a monster-sized amount of fried dough with banana chunks and cinnamon covered in glaze, drizzled in chocolate and peanut butter with peanuts and chocolate chips on top. However, we tried out a lot more doughnuts in a recent vlog, including the Voodoo Doll, Tangfastic, and Grape Ape, so feel free to take a look at our review below!

Voodoo Doughnut is open at Universal CityWalk from 7:00 am – 12:00 am Sunday – Thursday and from 7:00 am – 1:00 am Friday & Saturday.

I wonder if they have they *self-censored* shaped donuts like they do at the ones in Portland.

I know, I was thinking the same thing. Like the C*** and B**** in Portland. I HIGHLY doubt they would land those donuts in Universal.

Probably not! That’s the one I was wondering about, haha.

Just another reason to go to Universal for a day over Disney. Thank God Disney is opening Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge so they can put some life into Hollywood’s Studios.
