We’re a little past the halfway point of Halloween Horror Nights 2024 at Universal Orlando Resort. If you haven’t heard yet, Red Coconut Club at Universal CityWalk received a limited-time spooky makeover into Dead Coconut Club for the HHN season. This seasonal overlay has been an HHN staple since 2022.

It’s Universal’s hottest club. This place has everything: 80s music, neon lights, horror movie props, exclusive mixed drinks from two different bar menus, free-play arcade consoles, and more. We had to make sure to stop into this Vampire nest before sunrise for a DIS Unlimited Happy Hour.
Dead Coconut has rewound to the 1980s. Upon entering the first level of the club, you’ll immediately spot an array vampiric photo opportunities amongst neon signs that fit the theme.

An 80s soundtrack is blaring between live singer performances, and the dance floor is waiting!

By the bar downstairs, you’ll find free-play arcade consoles including Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and Centipede, along with a vending machine fit for vampires which is conveniently “out of order”.

Heading upstairs, you’ll find a Blumhouse fever dream (or nightmare), featuring a bar surrounded by photo ops with characters and props from films like The Purge, The Black Phone, Freaky, Happy Death Day, and M3GAN.

There are two different beverage menus split between the downstairs and upstairs bars.

Here’s what we tried on our recent visit!

Blood Moon Punch – Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine White Lightninā, Gran Gala, cranberry juice, orange juice, lime juice, dragon fruit syrup, grenadine and soda water
20 oz. Souvenir Cup ā $17.50 | Refill ā $13.50 | 12 oz. Single Serve ā $13.50
This had way too much going on – too sweet, too crazy. We likened it to Jungle Juice, or perhaps your “winnings” from the ill-fated King Cup drinking game. I’ll admit, the beverage name sold me before I really thought about all of those flavors together, as Blood Moon: Dark Offerings was my #1 favorite house from HHN 32. I ended up swapping this out for what Hannah ordered (see below) and was much happier.

Death by La Dola – Cuervo Tradicional Plata tequila, cucumber and jalapeƱo essences, lime juice, simple syrup, and a hint of smoked salt
20 oz. Souvenir Cup ā $17.50 | Refill ā $13.50 | 12 oz. Single Serve ā $13.50 | Mocktail ā $8.50
This is essentially a spicy Margarita — Hannah thought it was nothing special but it “wasn’t bad either”. The smoked flavor was nicely paired with the refreshing cucumber and dash of jalapeƱo heat. I’d get this one again!

Cursed Cranberry Vodka Spritz – vodka, cranberry, and a refreshing fizz | $14.25
This isn’t exclusive to Dead Coconut, as you can also find it at select bars around Universal Studios Florida for Halloween Horror Nights. It’s really refreshing, especially on a humid Florida evening, and really isn’t that sweet. It possesses more of a spiced cranberry flavor with a hint of orange. We’ve enjoyed this a few times this season, and this certainly won’t be the last time.
Whether you’re visiting before Halloween Horror Nights, or maybe after a Universal park day, we highly recommend Dead Coconut Club on your Universal visit. Be sure to stop in before it closes on November 3rd!
