Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort is getting a major country music addition.
A new Category 10, the entertainment venue backed by country music star Luke Combs, is set to open at CityWalk in late 2027. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Combs and Opry Entertainment Group, which operates the venue.
Construction on the three-story experience is expected to begin this summer. Once complete, the venue will span approximately 33,000 square feet at Universal CityWalk, though the exact location within CityWalk has not yet been disclosed.
The Universal Orlando location will mark the third Category 10 venue overall. The first opened in Nashville in 2024, with a second location in Las Vegas scheduled to debut later this year.
While details specific to the CityWalk location have not been released, the Nashville venue offers a look at what guests can expect. That location features line dancing, live music, a lounge, a sports bar, and a rooftop bar. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, ribs, salads, signature drinks, and a 64-ounce group cocktail called Life of the Party.
“Expanding the Category 10 footprint into this world-class entertainment destination allows us to introduce visitors to an authentic country music experience inspired by Luke’s Carolina roots,” Colin Reed, executive chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties, parent company of Opry Entertainment, said in a news release.
“I’m super-pumped and humbled that we’re getting to open a location there,” Combs said in the news release. “My wife is from Florida, so we’re both super-excited about this. I am glad to be bringing our brand of first-class service and awesome tunes to the Sunshine State.”
Combs is one of the biggest names in modern country music, with hits including Hurricane, When It Rains It Pours, Beautiful Crazy, and Better Together. His 2023 cover of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car became one of his No. 1 songs on the U.S. country charts and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Opry Entertainment Group already has a presence in Central Florida. The company also operates Blake Shelton’s Ole Red, a restaurant, bar, and live music venue located at Icon Park on International Drive.
With Category 10 joining the lineup, Universal CityWalk continues to expand its mix of dining, nightlife, and live entertainment offerings aimed at both theme park guests and locals.
