Darkness overtook Universal CityWalk for a brief period on Wednesday, February 8th. A power outage that affected parts of CityWalk and assorted hotels was evidently related to an off-site issue. Universal has not given details as to the cause of the outage. Tom Schroder, a Universal Orlando spokesman, puts the outage lasting from 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm according to the Orlando Sentinel. There were also reports of a traffic light on resort property being without power, as well as some residential areas nearby.
