Universal Announces Vegas Horror Unleashed Experience For Chicago

Universal Horror Unleashed is bringing its thrilling horror experience to Chicago with a new year-round attraction opening in 2027. This will be the brand’s first location in the Midwest and its second after the soon-to-launch venue in Las Vegas.

The Chicago location will be housed in a vacant commercial building at 700 W. Chicago Ave, directly across from the new Bally’s Casino in the River North neighborhood. Construction is set to begin in early 2026, with the attraction scheduled to open in 2027.



Universal Horror Unleashed: Chicago will transform the space into a premier horror destination, featuring terrifying mazes, themed bars and eateries, live entertainment, unique food and beverage options, and a retail area. This attraction is designed to provide immersive, year-round thrills that go beyond traditional seasonal Halloween events.

The project is anticipated to generate over $1 billion in economic impact for Chicago and create more than 400 permanent jobs, including positions for scare actors, makeup artists, and prosthetic specialists.

Universal Horror Unleashed: Chicago is set to become a must-visit spot for horror fans. More details will be shared as the opening date draws near.
