With no warning (besides tons of rumors and building permits) or regards for feelings, Lucy – A Tribute has officially closed at Universal Studios Florida. Universal also confirmed that Lucy – A Tribute will be transformed into a Hello Kitty interactive retail experience. Guests have always complained that there was a lack of Hello Kitty merchandise at the Universal parks and too much Hollywood history, making this decision an easy one.
Lucy – A Tribute is survived by other opening day attractions E.T. Adventure and Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show. Viewings for Lucy will still happen daily on Hollywood Boulevard. RIP Lucy.

Nicely written, Craig. Hello Kitty, seriously? Ridiculous decision on Universal’s part…
It was nicely written. Why change it? They should keep it and add on a Hello Kitty if people demand it.
Okay….either this is a brilliant double-dose of sarcasm or you completely missed Craig’s sarcasm in his post. I’m hoping it’s the former….
Oh come on for real? Hello kitty? Ye i can see that being a big hit like the legendary lucy universal what the flying d**k are yiu doing
“Guests have always complained that there was a lack of Hello Kitty merchandise at the Universal parks and too much Hollywood history, making this decision an easy one” LMAO perfect.
as someone with a giant hello kitty tattoo, even i am sad about this. i can get hello kitty at the orlando airport or the mall. can’t get Lucille Ball anywhere but my tv!
If I complain can I get “Luke Bryan World”
Wait a minute, I’ve been going to Universal Orlando Resort for *decades* and I cannot recall hearing one person say there was a lack of………oh.
As a big Lucille Ball fan I will certainly miss this exhibit. I will always love Lucy!
They should keep Lucy. Universal is suppose to be about Hollywood.
“Guests have always complained that there was a lack of Hello Kitty merchandise at the Universal parks and too much Hollywood history”…… oh PLEASE tell me this is Craig’s dry humor.
WHAT a waste!! You can find Hello Kitty in any mall and in the Dollar Tree down the street.
LUCY on the other hand…more people need to watch these classic shows. My kids used to LOVE Lucy shows (when I got sick of the garbage they were watching and turned on the ME-tv black and whites instead).
Guess I won’t renew my annual pass. I loved that Lucy exhibit and took our kids there often. Hello Kitty … Good bye Universal.
This is sad news. So glad i went to see it years ago. It will be missed.
