Someone has a bone to pick!
Universal couldn’t resist the urge to poke fun at the current hot topic in the central Florida theme park sphere. Now that Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama is officially closed to make way for the Disney’s Tropical Americas expansion, Universal had the ammunition to address the Elephant– or– Iguanodon in the room, noting that they have multiple dinosaur based attractions just up the road based on the ever popular Jurassic Park/World intellectual properties.
Just after the first part of Disney’s own dinosaur-centric land permanently closed, @UniversalORL cleverly tweeted:
If only there was a theme park with a dinosaur themed area, rides and dinos you can meet — oh wait

I mean, what a clapback. It is important to note that it’s not all over for dinosaurs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom just yet- the fan favorite attraction DINOSAUR, the children’s play area The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus and other small areas are still open. But with half of the land closing down, it truly is a Countdown to Extinction.
That said, Universal does beat out the mouse when it comes to premium dinosaur offerings. Between Jurassic Park River Adventure, Jurassic World VelociCoaster, and an *actual* meet & greet with a Velociraptor, they rightfully deserve this win.
How do you feel about Universal winning the dinosaur battle of the major theme parks?
