All Hallows Eve Boutique, the Halloween shop in The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure, has updated its theme once more! The shop regularly changes the theming inside to keep the store fresh. Monster Gram Pictures Studios is the new take on the store for the summer. Frankenstein’s Monster is a director, the Mummy is a gopher, the Gill-man is on the camera, and so much more. Plus, there are little remnants of Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe placed in the store.
Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride, and the Mummy are the first monsters you see when entering the store. Frankenstein’s Monster doesn’t seem to be enjoying the direction the movie is heading. The Bride seems shocked by it all. The Mummy also doesn’t look too pleased to be getting everyone’s coffee. Good news – he made sure to get Mr. Fraser’s coffee.
There are four little dioramas set up in the first room. The Mummy, Wolfman, and Creature all have director’s chairs. The movie posters, art, and stills in the diorama should look familiar if you dined at Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe before it shut down.
The next room shows us that Dracula got into the sound business. He’s holding a boom mic in front of a very good-looking backdrop. Animated UFOs are bobbing up and down so they’re clearly making an alien picture. It all feels like Plan 9 From Outer Space. Gill-man is running the camera and doing a good job of it.
If you didn’t know already, Wolfman is the editor of the movie they’re making. I’m not so sure the 3D glasses are going to help him much, but they’re a look. The giant squid behind him is multi-tasking as the art department and make-up department while grabbing food from craft services. The more tentacles you have, the more efficient you can be.
The Monster Gram Pictures Studio should be the theme of the store for the rest of the summer and expect it to change in the fall with Halloween Horror Nights. Take your time walking through and savor the details.
