Universal Orlando Resort is testing a new way for guests to skip the standby line – single attraction Express passes. The pilot program, currently available for Revenge of the Mummy in Universal Studios and Skull Island: Reign of Kong in Universal Islands of Adventure, allows visitors to purchase an individual Express entry for a specific ride rather than buying the traditional, full-park Express Pass.
According to signs near the attractions, the price starts at $24.99 per ride but may vary depending on demand, similar to other dynamic pricing systems used for one-time access products. Guests can walk up to the attraction, scan a posted QR code, and complete the purchase directly through the Universal Orlando app. Once purchased, the Express entitlement appears in the app and can be scanned at the attraction’s Express entrance.

This new option gives guests added flexibility, especially for those who may not want to invest in the full Express Pass but still wish to save time on select rides. It also serves as an alternative for visitors who find themselves at the park during busier times and decide they’d like to skip a specific line.

Both attractions chosen for the test, Revenge of the Mummy and Skull Island: Reign of Kong, are known for their detailed theming and variable wait times.
After purchasing Universal Express Single Attraction Access, there are two ways to redeem it. Take advantage of Effortless Entry with Photo Validation if it’s available and you’re enrolled, or scan your QR code in the Universal Resort app.
Valid theme park admission is required. The Universal Express Single Attraction Access is only valid for same-day use at the attraction selected. Express ride access is a separate queue with a shorter wait time.
Universal has not officially confirmed whether the single attraction Express option will expand to other rides or remain a limited test. The company regularly experiments with new queue and ticketing technologies to streamline guest experiences and reduce wait times across its parks.
For now, guests visiting Universal Orlando can keep an eye out for QR codes near participating attractions to take advantage of this new pay-per-ride Express Pass test.
