Hazmat called to Universal Orlando back of house

WESH 2 is reporting that Hazmat crews were called early Friday morning in response to a chemical issue back of house at Universal Orlando. Around 4:00 am, the Orlando Fire Department responded to the incident after “some team members were in a laundry area where a couple of basic cleaning chemicals may have been mixed together.” A Universal spokesman said employees were sent to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

While this is not a common occurrence at Universal Orlando Resort, the action being taken by Universal is all according to protocol set up in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Universal’s first priority is the safety of guests and team members.
