Longtime Executive Mark Woodbury Appointed as Vice Chairman of Universal Parks and Resorts

A new position of Vice Chairman of Universal Parks & Resorts was created and has been filled by Mark Woodbury who has been with the company for 28 years. Woodbury will continue to be President of Universal Creative, the research and development team responsible for designing rides and attractions. He will continue reporting to Tom Williams; Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Parks & Resorts.

“Mark has been a driving force for creativity, innovation, growth and development across the entire Parks group,” Williams said in a news release.

Guests may “recognize Woodbury from his appearances in video previews for attractions such as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. His team has been responsible for the development of theme parks such as Islands of Adventure in Orlando and Universal Studios Osaka, along with attractions such Skull Island: Reign of Kong, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and Transformers: The Ride — 3D.”
