Masks Are No Longer Mandatory at Universal

Universal Orlando Resort is taking their next step on the path to getting back to normal. As of Saturday, May 29th, 2021, face coverings are no longer mandatory indoors and on attractions for vaccinated guests. This comes just one week after Universal changed their previous face covering policy and made masks optional outdoors, but still mandatory indoors including shops, restaurants and hotel public areas, and at all attractions from the moment the queue begins until the exit of the experience.

Universal Orlando Resort is not requiring a proof of vaccination. Universal’s Team Members will still be wearing face coverings while onstage. Universal also continues to recommend washing your hands often for at least 20 seconds and practice social distancing by keeping at least 3 feet between your travel party and others and adhere to floor markings when present.

Universal Orlando’s website still says attendance is being limited at the theme parks, and limited capacity is the final hurdle in getting back to normal. Universal has made great progress in returning to normal and essentially has gotten back to it in one year. The parks closed due to COVID-19 on March 16, 2021 and reopened for previews starting June 1, 2021.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Masks are literally one of the most basic defenses against a pandemic that is still raging. This will kill people.

No. Your vaccine is one of the most basic defenses against a pandemic that is still raging (your words). And in the United States it is no longer raging; in fact I suspect that (because of the vaccine) R0 is well below what would be considered a pandemic.

I’m guessing you’re anti-vax? They’re the only folks I know that still want to wear a mask.

I still wear a mask and I have been vaccinated. I wear a mask because I can’t trust anti vaxer’s to be honest and wear a mask. Anti vaxers are usually the people that are anti maskers.

If you got the vax and still have to question everyone else’s decision, how much faith do you have in your decision to get it?. Worry about you

Why does everyone have to be so mean and judgmental? The people I know, who are not going to get vaccinated and do not want to wear a mask, are educated people who have look at the science and decided what was best for them and their family. If you are at risk of becoming seriously ill or dying from covid, talk to your doctor and do what is necessary to protect yourself and your family, and let others do the same.
Check out the recent study published by Washington University – St. Louis about antibodies. Many who are deciding against the vaccine are people who have natural antibodies from already having covid-these people should not have to get the vaccine nor should they have to wear a mask if they don’t want to-it should be their choice.
If you are vaccinated then you are protected, worry about yourself, not about those who have made a different choice than you. Their health is on them.
The decision to get a vaccine should be made between that person and their doctor, not by the media, the government, the CDC, or anyone else.

Well said ! the only people I see that are continuing to live in fear are those who have got the vaccine. Blows me away. Stay home if your that concerned.

Masks do nothing anyway, they are theater, nothing more.

If the were properly fitted N91 (not kn91) masks, that would be different, but what we have reduces spread by less than 2% per the CDCs own study.

This isn’t going to kill people and if you are worried, go ahead wear a mask, but you can’t expect everyone else to keep doing so just because it makes you feel better.

The pandemic is not “raging”. The vaccine if he most basic defense and is doing it’s job very well.

Um…. no… I think you’ve been brainwashed, you need to review the statistics and follow the science. Not wearing a mask is not going to “kill people.” The people at risk of dying from covid should get vaccinated and if they’re at that high of a risk, then maybe visiting a fun park is a bad idea.
      Personally, I applaud Universal.
Wear a mask if you want to, but I should not have to force my children to wear one when they are at very little risk of getting covid, have an almost zero risk of dying from covid and are not spreading covid. Again-look at the statistics and stop falling for the scare tactics that have plagued our country. I understand people being scared in the beginning when we knew very little about covid, we know so much more now. People need to start making educated decisions about their health and let others do the same.

The masks most people wear are useless. Please do your research. If it makes you feel better- wear a mask. Everyone shouldn’t be forced to wear one.

I wore the surgical blue mask they hand out, to cut the grass because it was so dry in my area and it didn’t work to keep back grass clippings and it didn’t prevent blockage from that but it is going to keep a virus at bay? people need to wake up! Mask are useless!!!!
the virus is doing what they all do eventually ..go away!…if anything is helping it is washing hands as much as we have!

I’m wondering if they’ll get rid of the mandatory hand sanitizer next. Honestly that stuff they use is terrible.

Hooray for Universal leading the way to freedom! Let those that want to wear a mask wear one. those that don’t feel the need make that choice for themselves. Finally small children can visit a park again and have fun. Too bad Disney doesn’t feel the need to let people choose for themselves. Guess families with small children now have a place to take their families for the much needed vacation!
