Yesterday we reported that Universal Orlando had filed plans for a new hotel. Today a few more details about those plans have come out, including a possible name for the hotel.

The lot is a 5.87 acre piece of property just south of the new Sapphire Falls Resort, which is due to open this month. The new hotel will be connected to a new parking garage located next to the Sapphire Falls property.

Topographical plans that were filed use the name “Aventura Hotel at Universal.” Back in October 2015, Universal City Studios LLC filed a trademark for “Aventura Hotel.” The Orlando Business Journal says the plans for the hotel were received by the city on June 7, and that same day, a “Notice of Allowance” was issued for the “Aventura Hotel” trademark. This trademark is for “hotel services; resort hotel services.”

The name could still be changed, but for now, this looks to be a possibility, and would tie in to the Islands of Adventure portion of the Resort.

Universal has not yet commented officially on this filing.
