Early this morning, Universal Studios Japan officially broke ground on Super Nintendo World in a ceremony with Shigeru Miyamoto, Director and Creative Fellow of Nintendo, Mr. Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative, and the main man himself, Mario. The truly exciting news was Woodbury announced there would be a Mario Kart “a new kind of attraction that takes theme park entertainment to entirely new level.”

Along with the groundbreaking, a brand new trailer was released for Super Nintendo World that showcases how truly immersive it will be. From the looks of it, guests will have to enter the land through the classic Mario warp pipe, and they will gaze upon a land full of Mario Kart, a potential Yoshi attraction, and so much more! Super Nintendo World will be open at Universal Studios Japan in 2020 in time for the Tokyo Olympics, and then it will open later in Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando.
