Universal Theme Parks to Temporarily Close

Update: Universal Orlando Resort including the theme parks, hotels, and Universal CityWalk will remain entirely closed through April 19, 2020.

As a precaution, Universal Orlando Resort has decided to temporarily close its theme parks in an effort to prevent a potential COVID-19 outbreak at the close of business on Sunday, March 15. This decision came after temporary closure announcements from Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Universal Studios Hollywood. It’s important to remember that there are currently no documented cases of an outbreak of Coronavirus at Universal Orlando Resort and the steps being taken right now are done out of an abundance of caution.

Universal has stated that they anticipate the theme parks remaining closed through the end of March, but they will continue to evaluate the situation. While the theme parks will be closed, Universal CityWalk and the resort hotels will remain open for guests. Anyone affected by this announcement is encouraged to call 877-801-9720 for more information.

We’ll continue to update this story as more information is available.
