In an effort to continue construction all around property, Universal Orlando and Loews Hotels has decided to add an additional 400 guest rooms to Cabana Bay Beach Resort. These rooms will be housed in two new towers at the south end of the property near the Continental and Americana Towers. These rooms will be opening sometime in 2017 and promise amazing views of Universal’s Volcano Bay – the new water park being constructed on the small plot of land south of the property.

Currently, there are 600 family suites in the Cabana Courtyard and an additional 300 family suites and 900 standard rooms in the Lazy River Courtyard where this addition will be built. This will increase the total amount of hotel rooms at Cabana Bay Beach Resort to 2,200.

Right now, there are no details about whether the new rooms will be family suites, standard rooms or a combination of both. However, it really doesn’t matter. The important thing to remember is Universal needs more on-site rooms, especially at the value price point, regardless of the room type.

As the project moves on, more details are sure to be announced, including when the new rooms are available to book.
