Imagine this: you’re getting ready for your big Epic Universe day while staying at the nearby Terra Luna Resort… but you need to fuel up first!
While the newly-opened Terra Luna Resort (and Stella Nova next door) offers Pizza Delivery service directly to your room from 5pm to midnight, there is no room service during breakfast or lunching hours. In case you’d like to enjoy breakfast in your hotel room, you can order food to-go from the quick-service cafe downstairs, just off the lobby area. You’ll need to place your order at the counter, and wait at a table with a buzzer before your food is bagged up and ready for you at the pick-up counter. Sorry, you can’t stay in bed the entire time…
Before making my way over to the Omega Cafe, I stopped by Omega Market to check out their to-go food items and *Proudly Served* Starbucks Coffee. The heated, pre-made food items at the Market include Croissant, Bagel, and English Muffin breakfast sandwiches with egg, cheese, and bacon. I may try one of these tomorrow!
I did end up ordering one ol’ reliable coffee from here; an Iced Cold Brew with Vanilla Sweet Cold Foam. It tasted just as if I ordered it from a normal Starbucks location!
This was lovely to sip on and wake up a bit while waiting for my food order on the Cafe side. Here’s a look at the breakfast menu offerings from Omega Cafe:
I had a hankering for a sweet AND savory breakfast after a long night in space. I opted for the Breakfast Pizza and Stuffed French Toast. And might I say, these were more heavenly tasting than I anticipated for a quick-service to-go style breakfast… After ordering and a 10-minute wait at a nearby table, my food was ready. Off I went (back to my comfortable room) for breakfast in bed.
Breakfast Pizza | $12
The pizza is topped with crumbled pork sausage gravy, applewood smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, hot chili oil. The toppings were nice altogether; the savory flavors of the eggs, cheese, bacon, and chili oil went well together. The crust was a little dry, and could be more pillowy. There was a thin layer of the sausage gravy as the “sauce”, but overall this is a fun take on a breakfast combo — and easy to consume in a few bites if you’re on the go or getting ready in your room!
This dish is also served with a choice of breakfast potatoes or fruit cup. I mean, how can you turn down breakfast potatoes? Spoiler: they are a breakfast menu highlight. These were hot and fresh dense potato wedges with just the right amount of crisp and seasoning.
Stuffed French Toast | $14
Two pieces of brioche bread are stuffed AND topped with sweet mascarpone, mixed berry compote, and sugar dust. Let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised with how lightly sweet this dish was. When you think of stuffed French toast, you may think it’ll just weigh you down the rest of the day. However, the brioche was light and fluffy, while the mascarpone has a whipped consistency with a slight cream cheese flavor – but not all that sweet! I found myself dipping back into the berry compote (which tasted mostly of blackberries and blueberries) for more sweetness with each bite. I’d definitely get this one again.
If you too have a craving for sweet & savory, I recommend combining these two items from Omega Cafe, — or maybe split the dishes with someone in the family!
It’s fairly easy to order food to-go and enjoy breakfast in your room. Perhaps you’ll want to assign someone each morning to grab the group’s orders and lineup for your in-room breakfast time. Besides, it’s tough to beat these perfectly-crisp breakfast potatoes with a view of Epic Universe off in the distance…
