In this episode, we discuss and review Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Orlando as part of our Universal Land
Read moreCabana Bay Beach Resort is almost a destination in itself due to its pools and recreational activities. First, there are two different pools for each section of the hotel. In the Cabana Courtyard there is a giant zero entry pool with an iconic diving tower water slide as well as a children’s play area. Private cabanas with lounge chairs, power outlets and television are situated all around the pool and available to rent for a premium cost. Also, in the Cabana Courtyard is a recreation area with pool tables, ping pong tables, horseshoes and more. At night, movies are played on an inflatable screen or you can sit around the fire pit.
Over in the Lazy River Courtyard, there is also a pool with a white beach sand and lounge chairs. The courtyard gets its name from the lazy river that is also located in the pool area, but the rafts are not free, so you might want to plan ahead and bring a cheap one from home. Fire pits are also lit up at night in the Lazy River Courtyard.
Inside, if its a rainy day check out the Galaxy Bowl bowling alley. At Galaxy Bowl, you reserve a lane for an hour at an extra cost and can bowl as many games as you can in that time. If it is slow, you may be able to stay on the same lane for another hour if you choose to pay again, but usually its impossible if its raining outside or anytime at night. Next door to Galaxy Bowl is an arcade featuring some of the latest and greatest arcade games available. The Fun in the Sun recreation center is open usually only rainy days and it provides a large space for team members to entertain kids with games and other activities.
For those who enjoy a good workout, the Jack LaLanne Fitness Studio is an extremely large gym with lots of machines and free weights. The gym is designed with personal artifacts donated by the LaLanne family to help commemorate the workout icon.
