Universal Studios Is Adding a TODAY-Themed Eatery
Universal is going to bring the TODAY show to Orlando, Florida — in culinary form. A restaurant based on NBC’s successful morning show will be constructed in Universal Studios Florida, just inside the gate and right across from the Universal Studios Store – the space that was previously Beverly Hills Boulangerie.
Both the interior and exterior of TODAY Cafe will be reminiscent of Studio 1A, where TODAY is filmed. On their way in, park visitors can expect bright orange awnings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and outdoor seating designed to look like the TODAY plaza. Once indoors, guests will be met with “stage lighting and TODAY’s vibrant orange theming with a modern and sleek design.”
Naturally, you’ll be able to watch showings of TODAY throughout your meal.
The eatery will feature its own signature coffee blend, exclusive to the restaurant, and beverages like handcrafted cappuccinos, espresso, lattes, and iced coffee will all be available. For those who like something stronger than coffee with their NBC morning shows, the cafe will also feature wine and beer on tap.
Universal has revealed some of the menu options guests can expect when TODAY Cafe opens:
Classic Italian Sandwich
Porchetta, spicy capicola, coppa, provolone cheese, roasted tomato, arugula, basil aioli on a baguette
Avocado Toast
Fresh avocado, tomato, cucumber, artichokes, grilled red onion, roasted red pepper, tomato aioli, spring mix on toasted farmer’s white bread
Asian-Inspired Chicken Salad
Baby arugula, napa cabbage, radicchio, shitake mushrooms, daikon sprouts and wasabi cashews topped with soy peanut vinaigrette
Roasted Cauliflower Salad
Brussel sprouts, arugula, farro, avocado and prosciutto topped with lemon olive oil vinaigrette
Vegan Sandwich
Oven roasted Portobello mushrooms, peppers, zucchini, carrots, vegan jalapeno cheese, sundried tomato pesto on cranberry artisan bread
These are just a sample of TODAY Cafe’s food options, and the restaurant plans to feature “seasonal dishes inspired by a TODAY personality.”
No opening timeline has been given for TODAY Cafe yet.
