Discover the EPIC Adventure of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

Universal’s brand-new park, Epic Universe, officially opens on May 22, 2025, and we are so excited to give you a sneak peek inside! One of the five immersive worlds guests can explore is How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, where the beloved animated universe comes to life in epic detail.

Berk is a rugged, rocky island perched above churning seas. In this colorful village, Vikings and dragons live together in harmony. Visitors can board a coaster to soar through the skies like a dragon, take to the sea for water-soaked boat battles, and be entertained by the antics of the village’s fire-breathing residents.

Highlights of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

Attractions

• Hiccup’s Wing Gliders attraction – from Hiccup’s workshop comes his latest contraption: a winged flying machine that launches aspiring Dragon Riders into the air, swooping, soaring, and encountering Hiccup and Toothless. Get ready to board Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, a fun coaster that invites Vikings to prove they’re brave enough to speed through the sky with dragons.
• Fyre Drill attraction – Villagers have to be prepared with fire-breathing dragons everywhere. Viking twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut have transformed Berk’s Fyre Skööl into a watery, interactive boat battle at sea. Board your ship in Fyre Drill and blast your water cannons at flame-like targets – and the occupants of every other boat – to outsoak other Vikings.
• Dragon Racer’s Rally attraction: The sport of dragon racing is a celebrated pastime on the Isle of Berk. At Dragon Racer’s Rally, Berk’s new Vikings can practice aerobatic maneuvers and high-speed barrel rolls on a Viking-made dragon-riding trainer. You’ll need these high-flying, gravity-defying, swooping, and soaring skills if you hope to become a champion dragon racer.

Shows & Experiences

• The Untrainable Dragon show – When a new dragon shows up on the Isle of Berk, the Vikings think they may have finally met their match. With help from Gobber and Astrid, Hiccup and Toothless work together to solve the mystery of The Untrainable Dragon. Experience the wonder of dragons onstage and soaring overhead in this spectacular, music-filled, heart-warming live show.
• Viking Training Camp experience – At Viking Training Camp, junior Vikings will discover all types of dragons in this sprawling, colorful, interactive play area. Adventures include multiple towers to climb and explore, a fun agility course, Viking drums and chimes to play, an interactive sheep launcher game, plus slides and activities for the youngest Vikings.
• Meet Some of Your Favorite Characters in Berk – As Berk’s newest Vikings you get the opportunity for an unforgettable meet and greet at the charming Haddock Paddock. Meet and pose for photos with the heroic dragon rider Hiccup and the friendly Night Fury dragon, Toothless, as you honor the bond between dragon and Viking. Stroll around Berk and you may meet some of your favorite characters, including Astrid and Stormfly, or Ruffnut and Tuffnut. You may even catch a glimpse of dragons flying high above the village.

• Mead Hall – a quick-service restaurant where visitors can feast like a Viking. Berk’s gathering place where you can enjoy meats, fish, sandwiches, and a variety of meads and ciders.
• Spit Fyre Grill – a quick service eatery offering delicious meals flame-seared by a helpful (unseen) dragon fry cook.
• Hooligan’s Grog and Gruel – No dragon rider’s day is complete without some tasty bites available at the festive racing-themed food stand, Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel.
