You’ll find many eateries and bars throughout Celestial Park at Epic Universe. While you’re planning your visit to the brand new Orlando theme park opening on May 22nd, you might want to add this stop to your list.
The Plastered Owl is a bar attached to Oak & Star Tavern, located between the portals to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Dark Universe. You can access the bar from inside Oak & Star’s main entrance, or via walk-up path along the right side.
Once inside, you’ll notice the warm and inviting atmosphere featuring sleek craftsmanship, stained glass details, sparkling star lights, and intricate wall carvings depicting forest critters. In fact, the bar’s name pays homage to a comical celestial owl whose legendary adventures come to life through artworks around the space:
The bar’s centerpiece is a majestic ancient oak tree from which beer flows directly on tap, enhancing the ambiance.
There is an elevated wooden stage in a corner of the space, meaning we may hear live music performed here in the near future!
The bar offers a curated selection of cocktails, each crafted to reflect the tavern’s whimsical theme. Mocktails, draft and bottled beers, and wines are also available.
On a recent Epic Universe preview visit, we tried two of the signature cocktails.
The Plastered Owl | $19
Basil Hayden Dark Rye whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, Filthy Black Cherry syrup, muddled lemon wedges and cocktail cherries with an orange twist
Ryno really enjoyed this whiskey selection; its subtle fruity sweetness complemented the boldness of the whiskey without overshadowing it. Refreshing and crisp, it’s a perfect pour for a warm summer day.
Rambling Raccoon’s Margarita | $16.25
Cuervo Trardicional Reposado tequila, lime juice, pomegranate syrup, agave syrup, and lime wheel
Each of the flavors balanced this tequila beverage really well, with the pomegranate and agave flavors elevating the typical margarita recipe. I would get this again!
Both of these selections were really refreshing on a 90-degree day. We were thankful for the air-conditioned hospitality between exploring portals and riding rides!
