Universal Orlando Resort is on a roll with announcing original houses for Halloween Horror Nights 2024! Last Friday, Slaughter Sinema 2 was revealed as the first house and Goblin’s Feast was announced yesterday. Today, Universal has revealed a third original house in their lineup called Major Sweets Candy Factory.

If you attended Halloween Horror Nights 2022 in Orlando, you probably walked through the Sweet Revenge scare zone at some point which inspired this house. There is a ton of backstory involved with Major Sweets that played out through the Tribute Store that year as well as the scare zone. Major Sweets is a candy tycoon and his family owned the Tribute Theater but after his parents were poisoned he slowly went mad and started poisoning theatergoers to hopefully avenge his parents. Later, he started the Major Sweets Candy Co. and during a Halloween parade in 1954 they made and distributed a candy that turned children into murderers.

The story now continues at Halloween Horror Nights 33. Universal says, “You’ve been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. The deadly delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends.” This isn’t the first time Universal has taken a scare zone and translated it into a house, and ultimately, those houses are usually some of the best.

Tickets are available now for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort on select nights August 30 – November 3, 2024.
