Universal Brings New Add-On Experiences to Mardi Gras
Universal Orlando is always looking for ways to improve the guest experience at their parks, especially during their special events, and they have debuted a few new experiences at Universal Mardi Gras this year that you might be interested in! An all-you-can-eat crawfish boil, dessert party with reserved entertainment areas, and a tasting lanyard can take your Universal Mardi Gras experience to the next level.
The Mardi Gras Tasting Lanyard will allow you to try sampler sized portions of the food available in the French Quarter Courtyard at a discounted price. There are three different lanyards available: 5 items for $30, 10 items for $50, and a Passholder Exclusive 15 items for $60. The sampler food items include po’ boys, jambalaya, 9 oz beer samples, and more. This could potentially save you money if you go for the 10 item lanyard or the Passholder Exclusive 15 item lanyard. The cost of the sampler food options range from $4.99 to $6.99, so to make the 5 item lanyard a deal you have to focus on the $6.99 options, whereas the more expensive lanyards can provide instant savings.
On select nights starting on February 16 through March 31, a Bayou Boil will be available to purchase at a price of $59.99 per adult plus tax and $39.99 per child plus tax. The all-you-can-eat Louisiana-style boil will serve up crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and corn-on-the cob. If you request it, you can also get in on some chicken and andouille sausage jambalaya. Along with the food, you will also receive an exclusive viewing area for the Mardi Gras parade with king cake, beignets, sparkling wine, and assorted non-alcoholic beverages. This could end up being an awesome value on busy nights assuming the food is delicious and the parade viewing area is large enough that everyone has a front row view of the parade.
Finally, if you want a reserved viewing area of the parade, but you don’t want the Bayou Boil, you can also try out the Mardi Gras Parade, Desserts and Cinematic Viewing Experience for $49.99 per adult plus tax and $29.99 per child plus tax. On select nights between March 13 and April 4, you can receive the reserved parade viewing before moving to another area for specialty desserts, sparkling wine and more plus an exclusive viewing area for Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration.
