Universal Orlando Resort has officially confirmed that the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster will close on August 18th, 2025, ahead of its previously announced “early September” shutdown. The ride, which has been a staple of Universal Studios Florida since 2009, is set to be replaced by a new attraction. Universal has not yet released what the upcoming replacement is, but has indicated that more information will be shared at a later date.

The final date of operation has been confirmed via Universal’s social channels, their website, and the Universal Orlando app. While the coaster is stated to close on August 18th, the final date of operation –your last chance to ride– will be August 17th, 2025.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is known for its 167-foot vertical lift, an inverted loop (you feel like you go upside down but you really don’t!), top speeds of 65 mph, and unique feature allowing riders to select their own soundtrack from a variety of genres. Sadly, many of the tracks have been removed, limiting the current ride experience to only five song selections.

A ‘Farewell Tour’ shirt is currently available online and at the parks for $30:
