Universal Studios Florida is diving deep into nostalgia this summer as it commemorates the 50th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s iconic film, Jaws. The park has transformed its San Francisco area into a vibrant tribute to Amity Island, the fictional setting of the film, and is rolling out exclusive merchandise and experiences to honor this cinematic milestone.

Amity Island Comes to San Francisco
Guests entering the San Francisco section of the park are greeted by a recreated Amity Island, complete with festive banners, nautical decor, and a welcoming “Amity Island Annual Regatta” sign. This immersive setup evokes the charm of the seaside town, inviting visitors to step into the world of Jaws and relive the summer of 1975.

Though the original Jaws ride closed in 2012 to make way for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, Universal Studios Florida has preserved elements of the attraction for fans to enjoy. The hanging shark statue, affectionately known as “Bruce,” remains a popular photo spot in the San Francisco area.

Just across from Bruce, you’ll find the limited-time step-in photo opportunity featuring one of the boats from the ride.

Jaws-Inspired Dining Coming Soon
Two food booths have recently appeared in the area, recreating the quick-service food counters that once existed near the Jaws boat ride at USF. Universal hasn’t dropped the details just yet, but we can assume themed menu items will soon be available to enjoy — all while soaking in the ambiance of the recreated Amity Island 4th of July celebration.

Jaws 50 Merchandise
Just inside the nearby Candy Factory, you’ll find recreated and actual props from the beloved, defunct Jaws attraction surrounding a new merchandise collection commemorating the 50th anniversary.

I also spotted the new Jaws 50 collection at Film Vault, a corner shop located in the New York area of the park. The collection includes apparel, accessories and collectibles like t-shirts, hats and bags featuring classic Jaws imagery and the Jaws 50 logo.

Don’t forget: the Universal Mega Movie Parade features a beautiful Jaws-themed float, complete with a shark attacking the Orca, alongside Chief Brody and Mayor of Amity interacting with parade-viewers.

If you’re a fan of ol’ Brucey, you don’t want to miss this limited-time summer celebration at Universal Orlando!
