It seems like Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone has been on the chopping block for years at Universal Orlando Resort. Universal hasn’t been shy about destroying the past to look for the future. The Simpsons kicked out Back to the Future. Harry Potter kicked out Jaws. Heck, Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone kicked out the Psycho 4 house and Bates Motel sets. The sun will finally be setting on parts of Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone for a new, exciting experience.
Universal Orlando Resort announced on its social media platforms that Fievel’s Playland, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, Curious George Goes to Town, Dreamworks Destination, and Shrek and Donkey’s Meet & Greet will close on January 16, 2023. That means the last day to experience these things will be January 15, 2023. E.T. Adventure, Animal Actors on Location!, SpongeBob StorePants, and KidZone Pizza Company will remain open. Shrek and Donkey’s Meet & Greet is not in KidZone, but over by the former location of Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe which closed earlier this year.
No other details have been announced, including what will replace this area. Universal has said new details will be revealed in the months ahead.
