‘The Walking Dead’ attraction infecting Universal Studios Hollywood

TWD AMC Blog Post 1200x707 1

Starting this summer, Universal Studios Hollywood will host The Walking Dead as a new, year-round walk-through experience. The official announcement was made on the March 13 episode of Talking Dead hosted by Chris Hardwick. The attraction is described as:

Follow in the survivors’ footsteps for a fully immersive journey, using both animatronics and live performers — the next best thing to actually being on The Walking Dead.

The attraction’s landscapes, special effects, props, staging, costumes and makeup were all created in collaboration with the show’s award-winning production team, including executive producer and director Greg Nicotero.

This won’t be the first year-round haunted attraction to reside at Universal Studios Hollywood. Stage 13 on the Upper Lot was used for five different walk-through mazes, including Universal’s House of Horrors, which was the last attraction housed there before being completely demolished.

No plans are set at this time for The Walking Dead to make its way to Universal Orlando, but fans of Halloween Horror Nights should now expect The Walking Dead to have a presence at the event for years to come.
