About Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen
Toothsome is a full-service restaurant, bar and confectionery located at Universal CityWalk. Once inside, the whimsical 19th-century-themed chocolate factory serves larger-than-life loaded milkshakes and desserts, alongside savory, elevated appetizers and entrees.
The restaurant, its original story and characters were all created by Universal Creative. Toothsome is an experience unto itself, based in the narrative of Professor Doctor Penelope Tibeaux-Tinker Toothsome and her sidekick, Jacques:
After exploring around the world in their dirigible, Penelope and Jacques returned home to her parentsā cottage in London to share their experience and experiments with her family. But they found the home empty with a note from her parents on the kitchen floor stating that they would ālook for her wherever chocolate can be found.ā With this knowledge, Penelope developed an industrialized chocolate emporium to share her love and knowledge of chocolate with the world, in hopes of being reunited with her family along the way.

Open every day from 10:30AM to 11PM, Toothsome offers extensive all-day brunch, lunch and dinner menus featuring American-fare with French culinary twists, along with fun interactions from original characters. They tend to have walk-up availability, but advance dining reservations are highly recommended ā especially for dinner time.
Stepping into the lobby, youāll also find fresh fudge, truffles, macarons, and other confections. You donāt need a reservation to enter this area, and can also order one of their famous milkshakes to-go at a separate walk-up counter inside here!

The DIS Unlimited team were overdue on checking out this happeninā place just outside Universal Orlandoās theme parks. Letās jump into our recent dining review of Toothsome Chocolate Emporium!
Drinks
First, we had to order some specialty beverages off of the menu. There is so much to choose from, including an exclusive chocolate stout made just for the restaurant.
For $17, the Macadamia Chocolate Cherry consists of Double Chocolate vodka, Drambuie 15, and macadamia nut liqueur. The added cherries and white chocolate shavings are a decadent touch. This was strong and quite tasty! While I had trouble narrowing down my beverage selection, Iāll have difficulty ordering anything else on future visits.
Ryno had the Old Chocolate Fashioned, made with Bird Dog chocolate whiskey, cherry Heering liqueur, sugar, chocolate and orange bitters for $16.25. This oneās another winner, and it properly fits the theme of the restaurant.
Finally, Julie tried the Just Golden, a mocktail made with Peach puree and lemon-lime soda for $11. It was sweet and very refreshing for a hot Florida day.

Appetizers
Roasted Brussels Sprouts ā charred Brussels sprouts, jalepeƱo mayo, cotija cheese, ancho chili powder | $10.95
These sprouts were nicely cooked, great tasting, but not crispy at all. They didnāt pack as much heat as we expected with the stated jalapeƱo mayo and ancho chili powder. We felt like the serving could have been a bit larger for the cost, but we would absolutely get this again.

Fresh Chocolate Almond Bread & Salted-Caramel Butter | $6.95
The chocolate bread is soft, warm, and tasty. But the butter makes it! No further notes. We say this is a must-do for your Toothsome visit.

Entrees
Broccoli Cheddar Quiche ā English colby cheddar, fresh broccoli, choice of side salad or soup | $14.95
This was delicious! I really enjoyed the baked eggy and cheesy broccoli, and the crust was super buttery. The top of the quiche had a satisfying baked crisp. However, there was some mysterious white gravy on top ā which wasnāt listed on the menu. Not only did this negatively impact the crisp top, but it tasted weird, almost sour. It was already congealed by the time the plate was in front of me, and there was no seasoning in the gravy. You wouldnāt
This also includes an option of soup or salad. I had the Caesar salad which was fresh, but nothing to write home about. Iāll try another salad selection next time.

Braised Short Rib ā Aged cheddar grits, roasted carrots, natural jus, cocoa gremolata | $31.95
The short rib was enjoyable, albeit a little dry, and we didnāt taste any notes of cocoa. The carrots were nice and tender. The cheddar grits needed a little more salt, and they were also erring on the dry side. While this isnāt the most expensive menu item, this is pricey for the small portion size. We wouldnāt recommend this one.

Tour de France ā Half-pound house-made patty, bibb lettuce, roasted tomatoes, sunny side up egg, avocado, crispy onions, French brie, toasted brioche & truffle fries | $19.95
The layers of flavor, the textures, the crisp, charred patty edges ā YUM. Honestly, this may be the best burger weāve ever had at Universal?! Weād definitely recommend this AND get it again ourselves.

Dessert
While theyāre known for their massive milkshakes here, we opted for the peanut butter lovers dream.
May Contain Nuts ā Peanut butter ice cream, peanut brittle, Reeseās peanut butter cups, chocolate peanut butter pie, whipped topping, peanut butter sauce, topped with Reeseās Pieces | $15.00
This was incredible, and easily shareable between 3-5 people. The peanut butte rice cream is some of the best weāve ever had, and the peanut butter pie slice in the middle of it all was heaven. If you love peanut butter, do NOT pass this up.
