Universal Orlando CityWalk CityWalk Restaurants

While CityWalk used to be known for its clubs and party atmosphere, the dining opportunities here have taken a precedence since Universal decided to bring new life to Universal CityWalk and they have succeeded brilliantly. Whether it’s a fresh pizza made in front of your eyes at Red Oven Pizza Bakery, a Cheeseburger in Paradise at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, or the fanciful dining at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen, there’s something here for every palate and budget.

Universal CityWalk blends original concepts with chains, but still offers something for every one. If you feel more comfortable checking out Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, or Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. then you’re in luck! If you’d rather take in one of Universal’s original concepts like NBC Sports Grill & Brew, VIVO Italian Kitchen, Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen, and Bigfire then you’ll discover that they know what it takes to make a great restaurant. Then you have restaurants like Pat O’Brien’s, The Cowfish, and Bob Marley – A Tribute to Freedom that are all worth checking out, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t last forever.

That really just covers the table service dining at CityWalk. There are a variety of options when it also comes to quick service dining. You can never go wrong with Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches or Red Oven Pizza Bakery when you’re looking to grab a quick bite. Hot Dog Hall of Fame isn’t that bad either, but the quality there seems hit or miss. A hidden gem that is forgotten most of the time is the Fusion Bistro Sushi & Sake Bar and you can find it opposite the entrance to a part of CityWalk that needs to die – the chain fast food corner with Panda Express, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and the Burger King Whopper Bar.

You’ll have a variety of breakfast options as you’re making your way into the parks each morning, but we recommend only one – Voodoo Doughnuts. These are the crazy doughnuts you’ve probably seen or heard about and there’s nothing quite like getting fresh one in the morning. If doughnuts aren’t your thing, you also have Starbucks and Cinnabon and between the two of those our vote would go with the world-dominating Starbucks. If you enjoy your sweets, Menchie’s frozen yogurt and Cold Stone Creamery are there for you on the hottest of days and coldest of nights.

Our biggest recommendation for dining at Universal Citywalk is go out of your comfort zone. Yes, it would be simple and easy to just grab Starbucks in the morning, Burger King for lunch, and Hard Rock Cafe for dinner, but you’re missing out on a variety of unique options Universal has created. Universal hasn’t delivered a bad dining concept at CityWalk, but they are unfamiliar by name and that can definitely put off some weary travelers. Try something new – you’ll probably love it!
