Emeril’s Orlando had a good run at Universal CityWalk, but there wasn’t much sadness on our end when the restaurantRead more
Imagine yourself at a lakeside home and every single day is actually a summer evening. Your friends and family are all there, the fire is blazing, and you never want the moment to end. That’s Bigfire. I mean not really, but that’s the idea behind Bigfire – a new original concept from Universal Orlando. The heart of the new restaurant is set around their wood fire grill where the chefs help create signature dishes that you’d expect to find in the Pacific Northwest.
Bigfire stands in the location that was formally Emeril’s Restaurant Orlando, which was considered one of the signature dining experiences at Universal CityWalk. Replacing a signature restaurant is no easy task, but Bigfire doesn’t back down from a fight. Bigfire brings hearty steaks, trout, scallops, bison, signature drinks, and table-side s’mores… to the table. The two-story restaurant feels massive and expansive, but the natural elements that make up the decor give it a warmth and friendliness that many will find very appealing.
Compared to the rest of the restaurants at Universal CityWalk, Bigfire could be considered on the pricer side, but there’s a quality that comes with the cost. Appetizers range from $4.00 with the Hearth Oven Baked Bread to $14.00 with the Smoked Brook Trout Dip. Sandwiches are reasonably priced like the Signature Bison Burger at $16.00 with entrees getting a little more expensive like the Beer Glazed Scallops at $25.00. The most expensive items on the menu are the meats like the Colorado Lamb Chops at $39.00 and the Creekstone Cowboy Ribeye at $38.00.
