Universal Orlando has confirmed Poseidon’s Fury will be closing permanently on May 10th to make way for a new experience. The attraction is found in The Lost Continent at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. This news is somewhat shocking as the attraction was closed for nearly two years for refurbishment starting in August 2020 and reopening in March 2022. The attraction may be closing, but The Lost Continent will be safe for at least a little bit because Universal confirmed Mythos would remain open.
There have been rumors for years suggesting The Lost Continent’s days were numbered. Originally, rumors spread around The Wizarding World of Harry Potter taking over the area. Lately, the rumors have been pointed toward a Nintendo property. The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad stunt show closed back in 2018. After Poseidon’s Fury closes, the only remnants left in the land will be shopping and dining.
Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the new experience replacing Poseidon’s Fury and make sure you get to Universal Orlando by May 9th so you can experience the attraction one last time! Also, don’t trust Mythos will remain open forever, and check out our last dining experience at the restaurant.
