If you’re even thinking about a summer trip to Universal Orlando, this might be the push you need to actually book it.
From May 23 through August 10, Universal is rolling out a lineup of limited-time experiences built around some of its biggest movie franchises. The idea is simple, and you’re not just riding attractions. You’re stepping into the films themselves.
Over at Universal Studios Florida, there’s a strong focus on classic films and new releases. A new Spielberg-themed exhibit will highlight props and behind-the-scenes details from some of his most iconic movies, along with a look at the upcoming film Disclosure Day, which hits theaters June 12.
If you’re more into throwbacks, Jaws is getting its own moment this summer. There will be themed photo ops inspired by Amity, plus limited-time snacks, drinks, and exclusive merchandise. It’ll be one of those areas where you’ll want to stop, take a few photos, and then immediately start browsing the merch.
There’s also a preview of Illumination’s upcoming film Minions & Monsters. This includes new character photo ops, themed food at Minion Café, and collectible items you won’t find outside the parks.
Outside the parks, CityWalk is getting in on the action, too. A summer movie series will bring films like Back to the Future, Jaws, and E.T. back to the big screen on select nights. You’ll need a ticket for those screenings, but it’s a fun add-on if you’re already there.

On top of all that, Universal is bringing back its seasonal entertainment lineup. The Mega Movie Parade returns with floats and characters from films like Jurassic World, Ghostbusters, and more, while nighttime shows like CineSational and the Hogwarts castle projection show round out the evenings.
If you’re thinking about staying on-site, there are extra perks in it for you. Think themed hotel activities, character meet-and-greets on weekends, and a few additional perks you wouldn’t get otherwise.
Universal also has some solid ticket deals for the summer, including extra park days built into multi-day tickets, plus discounts for Florida residents and passholders.
The bottom line is, this is one of those “limited-time” offerings where timing actually matters. If you want the full experience, summer is the window.
