New Universal Orlando Minion Land Details Revealed
Minion Land will be opening this summer at Universal Orlando Resort bringing more Despicable Me fun to Universal Studios Florida. The newest section of the park is located on Illumination Ave. – a new immersive area created between Universal and the filmmakers from Illumination. The land will include Despicable Me Minion Mayhem along with the previously announced Villain-Con Minion Blast attraction and Minion Cafe. However, Universal has announced even more for the highly anticipated area.
The entrance to Minion Land will be marked with a photo-worthy “Minion Land” marquee featuring 22 Minions. Once inside the land, you’ll find Illuminations Villain-Con Minion Blast, Illuminations Minion Cafe, Bake My Day, Pop-a-Nana, Freeze Ray Pops, and Illumination Theater.

Illumination’s Minion Cafe will be home to tons of tasty food and the marquee dining location within Minion Land. The restaurant will have three themed areas designed after the beloved Minions Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto. The Kitchen will showcase the equipment and gear the Minions used to create the meals being enjoyed. The Breakroom allows guests to dine in the Minion’s break space that includes lots of little details like a vending machine stocked with mischievous items. Finally, the Dining Room will be a vibrant space adorned with colorful artwork courtesy of the Minions and more. There will also be an outdoor patio.

Minion Cafe will have a menu with nearly 20 items inspired by characters and staples from the movies including eclectic “despica-bowls” like Otto’s Noodle Bowl, Agnes’s Honeymoon Soup, and Carl’s Cripsy Cauliflower. Handhelds include the Steak & “Cheese Ray” Sandwich and desserts are even themed like Bob’s Teddy Bear Chocolate Cream Puff. Mini Minions, aka kids, will also have a special menu with items like the Mini Boss’ Mega Melt. If you’re looking for a quick bite on the go, Minion Cafe will have an express window with a limited menu.

Your eyes may focus on the giant pink cupcake visible from everywhere in the land. That pink cupcake marks the home for Bake My Day which is a retail location and bakery featuring Minion-themed sweet treats like cupcakes, macarons, s’mores, and more. The merchandise will include apparel, plush, drinkware, accessories, keychains, and more.

Freeze Ray Pops will probably be a hot item in the Florida heat because they’ll be the perfect way for guests to cool off. The colorful popsicles are inspired by Gru, the Minions, and Vector. Drinks will also be available at the stand. If you want another savory or sweet option, try out Pop-a-Nana. The popcorn stand will have Banana-flavored popcorn inspired by the Minions along with cute popcorn buckets like the Minion Selfie Bucket.
Experiencing the attractions, like Villain-Con Minion Blast, will be the highlight of the land, but what about the characters? The Illumination Theater will be the place to meet and interact with Minions, Gru, Margo, Edit, and Agnes, plus characters from “Sing” including Rosita, Gunter, and Johnny. Murals photo ops, and other characters will be celebrated throughout the land and you’ll want to stop by Evil Stuff – the retail location at the end of Villain-Con Minion Blast to grab your last-second souvenirs.
This transformation of Universal Studios Florida will ultimately bring new kid-friendly offerings to Universal Orlando Resort but still satisfy families who love the Despicable Me and Minions movies. The land still doesn’t have an opening date, but hopefully, it will be revealed soon.
