In an announcement via Twitter, Universal Orlando has now updated their parking prices and it will no longer cost any money to park after 6:00 pm. Before today, parking after 6:00 pm was $5 for guests and then free after 10:00 pm. Parking was free for Florida Residents with valid Florida ID after 6:00pm, but now everyone gets in on the free fun. There is one catch though – this offer is not valid on Halloween Horror Nights dates.

The reason this is such a big deal is because it now makes CityWalk’s restaurants and clubs more accessible. For those unfamiliar with Universal’s parking garages, both garages lead into CityWalk and then Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure are accessible by walking through CityWalk. CityWalk has a lot of amazing dining options like Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, The Cowfish, and NBC Sports Grill & Brew, and cutting this parking charge after 6:00 pm will now make it more tempting for those without an Annual Pass or Florida ID to come over and try out some of the awesome restaurants. Heck, it might even drive up business at the AMC Theater at CityWalk that is usually pretty empty.
