Halloween Horror Nights is going strong, especially down here at Universal Studios Orlando, and you still have a few weeks left to enjoy the fright of your life on select nights. Next to the houses, I always love seeing the amazing themed foods and drinks they release in tandem. Themed food always adds so much to an amazing experience, and it is no different at Halloween Horror Nights.
Giving some time from opening meant I was able to collect recommendations from every kind of HHN fanatic. If you haven’t gone to HHN yet, or if you’re planning on going again with snacks on the mind, then you will want to know about these foods. I can say with confidence that these foods are must-haves for anyone looking to satisfy their hunger at Halloween Horror Nights.

First up in your foodie journey, you will want the Death By Cheese Stick. This snack can be found at the Death Tank, located at Gramercy Park, which is just between Transformers The Ride – 3D and Downtown Clowntown.

Death By Cheese Stick – 12.99
Giant Hand-Breaded Mozzarella Cheese Stick With Spicy Marinara Sauce

This large mozzy stick makes the perfect appetizer to my hand-curated HHN three-course meal. It is easily shareable and perfectly crispy. The spicy marinara adds the perfect kick, and the cross-section is absolutely stunning. Just look at that pull-apart.

Next, when you are craving an entrée, you will want to head back through Downtown Clowntown. If you haven’t gone through it already, be warned. There are several clowns there. If that isn’t your style, you can cut through a small grass patch with a few walkways. This will get you to what is, hands down, agreed upon as THE BEST food at HHN this year.

At Jack’s Circus Surplus, also located at Gramercy Park, next to Oddfellow’s Menagerie, you will find the Carn”EVIL” Smash Taco. I was told by, and I am not kidding, over ten attendees to try this. Not including people I met that day while waiting in line for the corresponding Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos & Control haunted house.

Carn”EVIL” Smash Tacos – 14.99
Smashed cheeseburger tacos, American cheese, Shredded Lettuce, Pickles, Secret Sauce, Toasted Sesame Seeds

These were absolutely delicious and worthy of the higher price point. They are juicy, filling, and overall absolutely delicious. It is crispy while still being easily foldable, and seasoned to perfection. I can say I have never had a burger-taco before, but now I want more. The sauce adds so much to the flavor, and this was hands down the best thing I ate the entire night. I can see why everyone was raving about it.

Along the lake, across from Transformers, you will find Crosshairs Coop. It might be a little hard to spot, as where you order your food and pick it up are separate. However, I find that adds to the experience. After ordering the best dessert-drink combo on HHN’s menu, you venture through the carnival gates into a small alleyway where both your drinks are made, and your food is prepped.

Fried treats and large jugs of lemonade always remind me of the fair, so this unorthodox beignet and its perfectly paired sour drink were the perfect treats to bring my HHN food circus to a close.
Fried PB&J Bites – 8.99
Battered Strawberry PB&J, Powdered Sugar, and Strawberry Jam

Let me just say that I was snacking on these in line for Cybergoria, and I could definitely tell that everybody was jealous. Even the robots. It seems that the peanut butter lovers, like myself, really rallied behind this one this year. A sweet but fruity taste that goes very well with the sugary, golden, fried batter.
Lucky Ticket Lemonade – 10.00
Minute Maid® Lemonade and Raspberry Jam
Add Tito’s® Vodka + 13.00

After that peanut butter treat, you will definitely be feeling thirsty. I prefer to counterbalance the sweetness of peanut butter with the sour tang of lemonade, and this was just the fit. While walking around at HHN all night, I saw at least 20 people with large cups of lemonade. I consider myself something of a lemonade fan, so I knew I had to find it eventually. I was so glad that I did. The raspberry jam gives it both a scary look and a delicious taste.
With the option to add Tito’s vodka, this doubles as a good and rather sizeable cocktail. While it is picked up at a separate window from the food, I find that it adds to the fun. This way you can watch the drink be made in real time while tucked away into a scary alleyway.
I definitely recommend using this as a guide to follow on your visit to Halloween Horror Nights this year. Everybody is talking about these foods, and you don’t want to miss out on the conversation. Nor do you want to miss out on all the fun and thrilling flavors. If you have already been to HHN, did you get the chance to enjoy these offerings? Or will you be returning to get a taste?
