Universal Orlando Announces 2022 Holiday Dates & Activities

Halloween season hasn’t even kicked off yet at Universal Orlando, but there’s new information out about the holidays at Universal Orlando Resort. Let’s be real – it’s never too early to plan for the holiday season. Universal is kicking off their seasonal festivities beginning November 12 through January 1, 2023, including plenty of returning favorite experiences. The best part about the holiday season at Universal Orlando Resort is that all of the activities are included with your park ticket!

Over at Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s will return. If you’ve never seen the parade before, it’s a blend of original Universal floats based on characters from Despicable Me, Shrek, Madagascar, and more alongside ballons you’d expect to see in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. There’s also an appearance by Santa Claus at the end of the parade. Make sure you are standing near the Christmas Tree in the New York section of the park if you want to see Santa light it up. Of course, it all happens right in front of Macy’s.

More cheer can be found throughout the rest of Universal Studios Florida in plenty of places. Mannheim Steamroller will be performing their holiday songs and selections from the “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular” on December 3, 4, 10, and 11. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley will be filled with holiday decor along with themed performances from Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees. It hasn’t been announced, but The Blues Brothers perform a holiday version of their show featuring Christmas music. Also not announced, but expected, will be another Tribute Store themed to the holidays with plenty of specialty food and drinks inside and around the resort.

Grinchmas is the word over at Islands of Adventure. The entire park is decorated for the season, but Seuss Landing takes it to another level with the spirit of Grinchmas. You can see the Grinch during the “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular” stage show, but he’ll also be in the land for special photo opportunities. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade will also be decorated like Diagon Alley, but at night Hogwarts Castle lights up with the awesome projection show “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.” The Frog Choir will perform a holiday version of their show.

The holiday fun does extend outside of the parks to CityWalk and Universal’s hotels so expect more information to be released about the holidays soon. It wouldn’t be Christmas without merchandise, food, drinks, and more!
