Universal Releases Mardi Gras 2023 Concerts & More!

Universal Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando Resort is just a few weeks away, and we have all details you need to know before visiting. The event will run from February 4th through April 16th, and you’ll be able to catch Universal’s Mardi Gras Parade on most days, specialty food and beverage items daily, and concerts on the Universal Music Plaza Stage. All these fun experiences are included with your admission to Universal Studios Florida.

First, let’s look at the concert lineup since some pretty big acts are coming to this year’s event. This year’s series will feature eight live performances by popular names in music like the Goo Goo Dolls, Maren Morris, and Sean Paul. Here’s the full lineup.

Besides the concerts, another event highlight is the Mardi Gras Parade. This year the theme is “Mythical Realms of Mardi Gras,” so all the floats and costumes are inspired by fantastical creatures like dragons, phoenixes, and unicorns with a Mardi Gras twist, of course.

This parade will be brought to life using six detailed and festive parade floats that will join the iconic floats like the two-story Riverboat and the 50-foot-long King Gator. There isn’t a “perfect” spot to watch this parade pass by, but the goal is to catch as many beads as possible!

Let’s dig into the food part of this festival, shall we? Food has to be a staple of Universal Mardi Gras, and there will be plenty of options this year. Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval will be returning, and guests will have the opportunity to indulge in food items from New Orleans to Brazil to Belgium and beyond. There will be more than 50 tasting-sized items for guests to try and explore. Guests can look forward to trying food items like Crawfish Boil and fluffy Beignets from New Orleans, Shrimp Ceviche Tostada from Mexico, a Mofongo Flight inspired by the Carnaval Ponceño in Puerto Rico, Indonesian Black Coconut Rice Pudding with Mango, and much more.

Universal Orlando’s other theme parks will be joining the fun this year for the first time ever. At Islands of Adventure, guests can order Gumbo, Jambalaya, King Cake, and more. Over at Volcano Bay, visitors can order a Muffuletta Long Board Pizza to celebrate.

This wouldn’t be a Universal Orlando event without a tribute store located in Universal Studios Florida. The Mardi Gras Tribute Store will be in an all-new space in the Hollywood area and will invite guests to an international jazz celebration. The store will lead guests into alleyways of New Orleans and eventually into a speakeasy where the celebration continues. This is where you can do all of your Mardi Gras shopping and take home a piece of Florida’s Biggest Party home.

Universal Mardi Gras is truly one of the best times of the year to visit Universal Orlando Resort. The weather is perfect on most days, the atmosphere is electric, and the entertainment is on a different level.
