One of the longest-running attractions at Universal Studios Florida is coming to an end. Animal Actors on Location! will permanently close in November, with its final performance scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026.
The show first opened on June 7, 1990, as Animal Actors Stage, making it one of just three attractions still operating from Universal Studios Florida’s opening day. The attraction was later renamed Animal Planet Live in 2001 before becoming Animal Actors on Location in 2006.
The only other opening day attractions still operating are E.T. Adventure and Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show, although the latter is currently undergoing a major update.
Universal confirmed that the space will eventually be used for a new experience, though the company has not announced what will replace the animal show.
“As Universal Orlando Resort continues to evolve, Animal Actors On Location! will take its final bow on November 2, 2026, making way for a future experience. A beloved part of Universal Studios Florida since opening day, the attraction has created lasting memories for Guests and Team Members for 36 years.”
The attraction also has a personal connection to Universal Orlando leadership. Adam Kingsley, Vice President of Park Operations at North Campus, started his 30-year career with Universal Orlando as an attendant at Animal Actors on Location. He said, “Animal Actors holds a special place in the hearts of many Team Members and Guests. We are grateful for the legacy of this attraction and the Team Members who made it so special.”
Animal Actors was previously located within Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone, which was replaced by DreamWorks Land in 2024. Universal has not revealed what is planned for the space. More information is expected from Universal at a later date.
