Universal Orlando has officially announced that Dragon Challenge will in fact be closing on September 5 to make way for a brand new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction! The attraction is set to open in 2019 and will be a thrill ride that “will take you deeper into J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, where you will encounter some of your favorite characters and creatures.” Universal is also promising that this attraction is unlike anything they’ve done before and will be family friendly.
Universal has also said that the new attraction will be one of the most highly-themed coasters they have ever created. They also promise that the new attraction is “going to redefine the category and transport you to thrilling places, drawing you into even more exciting adventures within the wizarding world.”
The last day of operation for Dragon Challenge will be September 4.

Once they got rid of the “dueling” aspect, it was just another roller coaster. Tons of fun, yes. But outside of the extensively themed queue, it lost it’s cool factor when the cars ran at the same time. Since that part is gone, I’m less disappointed to see it go.
Agree
Of course, I’ve planned my Universal Vacation for the following week… sigh….
I know kinda same here, glad it will be awsome new ride though
