3 things you need to know about Universal’s Aventura Hotel

Universal Orlando has officially announced their sixth on-property hotel, Universal’s Aventura Hotel, which will open its doors in Summer 2018. Earlier this year, the property name and details were leaked, but now we have a lot more information, so here’s the 3 things you need to know about Universal’s Aventura Hotel.

1) Universal’s Aventura Hotel will be a value resort

The 600-room hotel  has a curved, 16-story glass design that doesn’t look like a value resort, but it will be, and in price only. Like the other on-site hotels, it will be managed by Loews Hotels, but Loews doesn’t market their name with value hotels (Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort), hence why it isn’t there. Also, a lot of the views will be of the worst road running through Orlando, Interstate 4, and it would be hard to sell rooms with a bad view at a Deluxe price.

2) The location of Universal’s Aventura Hotel isn’t amazing

The hotel is on a patch of land just south of Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and across the street from Volcano Bay. Aventura’s parking garage will be connected via a walkway to the Sapphire Falls parking garage, providing easy access to that resort, which will be important. Despite having  a “crystal clear pool” and poolside hot tub along with a kids water play area, the renderings make the pool area look TINY, so taking advantage of resort pool hopping could be very important. There will be walking paths and a complimentary shuttle service to get you wherever you need to go on property.

3) The food and drink options sound incredible

It seems like Aventura will be borrowing some concepts from Cabana Bay and Sapphire Falls and mashing them together for the ultimate dining experience. The main dining at Aventura will be a casual food hall with five different cuisine options, which sounds like Bayliner Diner at Cabana Bay, which is one of the best dining options at any of the hotels. Starbucks fans will be happy to know there will be a standalone location in the lobby.

Aventura will have the obligatory lobby bar and pool bar, but also a rooftop bar, which will include craft cocktails and small plates along with panoramic views and a near eye-level shot of the top of the Krakatau volcano over at Volcano Bay. The craft cocktail/small plates concept works wonderfully over at Sapphire Falls and it should be just as good here.

Reservations for Universal’s Aventura Hotel won’t be available for a few more months and more details will surely be released along the way, but there is a lot of promise with this hotel. While it seems to lack the intricate theming that you’ll find at the other hotels, there is likely more to the story of Aventura Hotel than we know at this time. Stay tuned for more details!

Roof top bar with views of Volcano Bay and the fireworks at the same time could be sweet!
