Delayed Openings will Occur at Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

For anyone who has been following the opening weekend of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Universal Orlando’s latest and best roller coaster, it hasn’t been easy. Opening day saw 10 hour waits along with many rain delays and technical challenges. The following day the attraction didn’t open up with the park in the morning due to how long it was running the night before. Wait times have gone down, but technical issues and weather has continued to plague the attraction and keep guests from getting a chance to experience the newest addition to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Because of the issues the attraction has been facing, Universal Orlando has decided to officially open the ride at midday for the next couple of weeks. Universal said in a public statement via social media, “We’ve been managing through significant weather delays and running the attraction well beyond regular park hours to accommodate our guests. But this is our most sophisticated, high-performance, ride system ever – and our team needs time to take care of the ride’s daily maintenance and technical support. It’s been challenging for them to do that with our current operating schedule.”

Unfortunately, this also means that Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will likely open up just in time for Florida afternoon thunderstorms to roll in. Some have and will continue to argue that Universal should’ve never opened the attraction if it wasn’t completely ready to go and couldn’t operate for a full day. While that may be a valid argument, it’s not what they chose to do and there’s no changing it now, but it is understandable to be upset if you planned a vacation based on the announcement that the attraction would officially be open on June 13.

Universal suggests that any guests visiting Islands of Adventure  should enjoy the rest of the park in the morning and check in with the operations team at Hagrid’s for daily updates.
