When he was stopped by a loss-prevention manager, he handed back the toy, but wouldn’t go with the officer to the security office. He and Julia Delgado, 60, cursed at the officer and at backup security when they arrived at the scene. Zalazar then pushed an officer and attempted to hit them, while the other officers attempted to stop him. He then “stuck his thumb in one of the officer’s eyes.”

An Orlando Police Department officer arrived and arrested Zalazar. During this, Delgado began physically attacking two other officers and cursing at them.

Zalazar’s charges include aggravated battery, resisting arrest and theft. Delgado was arrested on three counts of battery.

Both Zalazar and Delgado have a history of arrests. She was arrested for larceny in 2001 and in 2004 for resisting an officer with violence. He has had seven arrests since 2010; one of those was for a robbery in 2013. Other arrests include “loitering or prowling, aggravated assault with a weapon and resisting an officer with violence.”

They were released on bail on Monday, January 19.
