Disney is currently battling with unions representing Walt Disney World Cast Members over pay increases, but Universal Orlando is the first to take action. Karen Irwin, President & COO of Universal Orlando Resort, informed Team Members that the starting rate base rate at Universal Orlando will become $17 per hour. The increase in base pay begins June 4, 2023.

Many Team Members who currently work for Universal will receive an increase based on the new rates and their time with the company. Beyond pay rate, Universal also elevated their 401K match and tuition reimbursement program, added compassion leave, doubled parental leave, enhanced family planning benefits, and more. Behind the scenes, Universal is also trying to elevate the work environment with upgraded break areas and more.

Universal Orlando Resort is looking towards the opening of Minion Land this summer along with Epic Universe in a couple of years and that means new Team Members are needed. Universal is regularly hiring for many hourly jobs and more information can always be found at UniversalOrlandoJobs.com.
