Volcano Bay Beginning a Seasonal Closure on November 2
Universal Orlando will be closing Volcano Bay temporarily on November 2 as part of a seasonal closure. Currently, Universal plans on reopening the water park on or before March 1. During this period, Universal will conduct annual maintenance on several attractions and areas of the park, which is typical for water parks to do during winter months for maintenance purposes.
Volcano Bay already had their operating days shortened to 5 days a week with the decision to close on the park every Tuesday and Thursday back on September 8, but a closure for this length is new for Universal. The current plan is to only close Volcano Bay for this season, but it could always become a recurring downtime for Universal.
Obviously this closure affects a lot of guests including those who have already purchased tickets to Volcano Bay for this timeframe as well as Annual Passholders who have Volcano Bay included in their pass. Guests who have purchased a 3-Park ticket including Volcano Bay can modify their tickets to a 2-Park ticket by calling (877) 801-9720. For guests who have a 3-Park multi-day vacation package, you can also modify your package by calling the same number and you’ll receive a Universal Orlando gift card for the retail price of the ticket plus an extra 20%. It can also be cancelled for a full refund.
3-Park Annual Passholders that are valid beginning November 2 will receive two additional months to compensate for Volcano Bay’s seasonal closure. Passholders can also modify their pass to a 2-Park pass and be reimbursed for the Volcano Bay portion of the remained of their pass term.
Volcano Bay is scheduled to reopen no later than March 1, 2021, so guests can still purchase tickets for visitings beginning March 1, 2021. 3-Park Annual Passes will not be available to purchase from October 2, 2020 through February 28, 2021 since Volcano Bay will be closed.
