It seems like this is the week for original house announcements, as we have another for Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Studios Florida! Universal shared on social media:
Just Announced: MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals
In this haunted house, a defunct zoo is now the deadly domain of warring cannibal factions that have taken their animal instincts to extremes. They’re territorial. They’re hungry. And you’re lunch.
Universal Creative Show Director Ramón Paradoa shared about the house: “I cannot overstate how excited I am for everyone to experience this house. It’s intense, in your face, and old school HHN presented in an elevated way that pushes boundaries. [Cam] crushed it with the design of this one and you’re all going to love it.”
Halloween Horror Nights is no stranger to cannibal-themed houses. All the way back in 1993 during HHN III, “The Slaughterhouse” first introduced the “human meat in a packing plant” concept. And while the beloved slasher icon Leatherface has made several appearances at the event over the years, the most iconic Orlando-born face of this flesh-flaying trope is Samuel Meetz, the star of “Leave it to Cleaver” from HHN 18. Set in the fan-favorite locale of Carey, Ohio, Cleaver struck a perfect balance between dark humor and genuine scares. With warring factions and guests caught in the middle of their “beef” (see what I did there), this one will likely rank among the most intense houses at the event this year.
One thing is for sure: cannibals usually means chainsaws. And it’s not HHN without the roar of steel and your heartbeat pumping in your ear.

We’re officially in HHN announcement season! MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals is the latest addition for this year’s 35th anniversary lineup at Universal Studios Florida, alongside H.R. Bloodengutz, Stranger Things, Sinners and Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow’s return. Additional houses, scare zones and entertainment will be revealed in the coming weeks.
