Limited-Time Universal Monsters Tribute Store Opens

Universal Orlando has perfected the art of making a themed tribute store. The next holiday-oriented tribute store dedicated to Mardi Gras will be opening soon, but Universal also threw another store together in the meantime devoted to Universal Classic Monsters. Revenge of the Mummy is closed until Summer 2022 for refurbishment, so Universal decided to make the gift shop for the attraction into an actual attraction while guests can’t experience the ride.

The tribute store is located inside Sahara Traders and is called Universal Monsters: A Tribute to the Creatures of the Night. This tribute store isn’t quite like the others that have come before it. Because of the space available, there are only two highly themed rooms. The monsters are mostly set up in positions where they can become awesome photo-ops, but it’s extremely dark inside so be prepared to use the flash or get a good camera.

So which Universal Monsters will you find inside the store? There’s the Mummy, the Phantom of the Opera, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula, the Invisible Man, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s Monster (kind-of), and The Bride. Frankenstein’s Monster is covered with a sheet so it’s hard to count him as an actual part of it. The easiest monsters to get photos with are the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Wolf Man, Dracula, and the Phantom. In fact, the Phantom and Wolf Man basically have dedicated photo spots with no merchandise blocking them. The hardest to get a shot with is Creature because they placed him high and far away.

Lots of Revenge of the Mummy and Universal Monsters merchandise can be found throughout the store. Most of it has been around for a long time. A couple of newer items can be found in the store featuring Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. There is also a variety of Magic Candle Company candles available for purchase.

Universal Monsters: A Tribute to the Creatures of the Night will only be around for a limited time, so get over to Universal Studios Florida to see it while you still can! Check out our shopping tour of the store for a different look!
