Earlier this morning, around 4 AM, a hot water line at Cabana Bay Beach Resort ruptured, causing the hospitalization of two guests. When the fire alarm was triggered from the leak, the two guests got out of bed, unaware of why the alarm was going off, and stepped directly into the hot water. They were rushed to Dr. Phillips Hospital and treated for minor burns.

The pipes that broke were located between first and second floor rooms, but Universal did not clarify which building the burst happened in. The water damage also caused some drywall to collapse in a breezeway, but no one was injured. Several other guests on the first floor were evacuated and guests on higher levels had the option to voluntarily evacuate to other Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando.
