We’re halfway through the Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) season and we’re ready to share our thoughts on this year’s 35th anniversary event including our personal house rankings and the value of Express Pass. Our team has visited the event several times and experienced all there is to see and do including how the event extends into the hotels and the Dead Coconut Club at CityWalk. This year is one for the books with returning icons like Jack, Oddfellow, Chance, Eddie, Caretaker, and Cindy Caine plus houses themed to popular I.P.s like Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.
Using HHN Express Passes, we either walked directly into the houses or waited a maximum of 15 minutes for those with over an hour standby line. For this reason, purchasing Express is an absolute must if you’re only visiting HHN for a night or two. Otherwise, there’s just too many must-do’s to fit in a single night. With Express, you can easily get all 10 houses done plus a show like Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir or Stranger Things Return to Hawkins. HHN Express ranges from $250 to $310 depending on the night.
Another great strategy for this year is to purchase Scream Early and access 5 houses before the event even starts. You can enjoy Stranger Things 5, Ozzy Osbourne, Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos and Control, Hellraiser, and Sinners all before the event officially kicks off at 6:30 p.m. If you already have admission to Universal Studios Florida for that day (annual pass or a vacation package), no need to purchase an additional Scream Early ticket. Scream Early begins at 2 p.m. and an evening nap back at your Universal hotel really helps to make it to the 2 a.m. event closing time. Scream Early tickets are $70 – $75.
Our house rankings are solely based on personal experience and preference! That’s the beauty of HHN, there’s something for everyone and you’re sure to notice new details every time you go through a house. Even better, there’s not a bad house this year. They’re all great, making it much harder to pick the best and “worst”. Many of these houses totally exceeded our expectations and our lists surprised all of us.
