Mythos Restaurant has been an Islands of Adventure staple since the park opened in 1999. However, Universal just announced the restaurant will be permanently closing in 2027 to make way for big changes coming to the Lost Continent area of the park. Mythos is largely considered to be the premier restaurant of Islands of Adventure with the only other sit-down restaurant being Confisco Grille.
Mythos takes reservations up to 30 days in advance and offers a grand dining area with impressive water features, mosaics, large stone work, and an open kitchen. The menu offers a wide-range of Mediterranean dishes, signature desserts, and craft cocktails.
We recently re-visited Mythos in preparation to say goodbye to the restaurant in 2027. Not only did we have a fantastic dining experience but we also had one of the best desserts we’ve ever had! Read and watch our full dining review below –

In addition to the intricate dining room inside, you can dine on the outdoor patio for picturesque views of The Incredible Hulk Coaster and Jurassic World VelociCoaster.

The cocktail, wine, and beer menu is extensive, offering something for everyone. Every cocktail we tried was well-balanced with fresh ingredients and we appreciated the unique wine and beer options.

Medusa’s Mule – Buffalo Trace® bourbon, lemon juice, honey, Fee Brothers® Cardamom bitters and ginger beer – $19
The Medusa’s Mule is one of the best takes on a Moscow Mule I’ve had! The bourbon perfectly paired with the lemon and honey and the ginger beer was subtle. The cardamom bitters were the unsung hero, making it such a comforting cocktail.

Mythos Signature Bread Service – signature wood-fired lavash bread, with red pepper hummus, smoked paprika, sumac oil, Kalamata olive tapenade, warm baked feta, roasted tomato sauce – $15
The portion size was surprisingly plentiful with the lavash bread coming out warm and fluffy. The hummus was creamy with the right texture from the cucumbers and garbanzo beans, the baked feta’s saltiness paired perfectly with the sweet tomato, and the olive tapenade paired well with the other two dips. You could even get the bread service with a cocktail to make for a great happy hour in a beautiful setting.

Fork, Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese – classic 3 cheese sandwich, served in a vine-ripe tomato soup with crispy pork belly – $24
The Fork, Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese is an iconic Mythos dish and doesn’t disappoint. The creamy soup base was solid by itself and even better when soaked up by the pork belly grilled cheese. Don’t be fooled – this is a super filling entree.

Souvlaki Couscous Bowl – za’atar spiced couscous, fresh cucumbers, marinated artichoke, Kalamata olives, spiced chickpeas, feta cheese, tzatziki, tahini dressing with Moroccan beef kabob – $33
The couscous bowl had everything you could want from a Mediterranean dish. Being able to scoop up the couscous and tzatziki in a bite was perfection. The Moroccan beef kabob is cooked to your temperature preference and is so tender.

Honey Lemon Glazed Salmon – Verlasso® salmon, Brussels sprouts, confit fingerling potatoes, oyster mushrooms, sweet pea ricotta purée, fennel salad – $39
The piece of salmon had great flavor and a large portion. The flavor of the salmon paired nicely with the roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet puree base.

Cinnamon Bread Pudding – cinnamon bread pudding, topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce – $13
The Cinnamon Bread Pudding is to die for and is maybe the best theme park dessert we’ve ever had! The bread pudding itself is super dense with lightly crispy edges and the cinnamon with the caramel sauce is truly divine. We all agreed we would visit Mythos again and again just to eat the Cinnamon Bread Pudding.
